Minneapolis, MN, - The nation’s largest statewide startup competition, the MN Cup, recently announced its 2017 semi-finalists in the eight different categories, with Sironix Renewables earning a spot in the Energy/ Clean Tech/ Water category. With over 1,500 entrepreneurs entering the competition, only ten teams per category were selected to move forward to the semifinals round.
Even with the competition’s grand prize winnings at $80,000 on the line, MN Cup has maintained their three key values – transparent, inclusive, and hustle – encouraging teams to move efficiently and quickly. This was apparent at the Semifinals Reception with competitors networking and sharing their innovative ideas before giving their elevator pitches to judges, mentors, and semifinalist. Sironix Renewables was selected because of their mission to transform the cleaning product industry with their revolutionary Oleo-Furan Surfactants.
“It was thrilling to see all of the innovative ideas and technologies coming out of the great state of Minnesota,” said Connor Beach, R&D Engineer for Sironix Renewables. “Seeing other teams present was motivating and provided great networking opportunities.”
For the next round of competition in August, Sironix Renewables will present a business plan, presentation, and video. The finalist rounds take place in September and October. More for info on the MN Cup, visit https://carlsonschool.umn.edu/mn-cup.
